Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2 1984) was an American actor. Her nominations for Golden Globes and Emmys in the role of Molly Solverson on the FX show Fargo's debut season. Tolman is the eldest of three siblings. She also has two older brothers. Early in her life, her family relocated to England. They stayed there until she was four years old. Then she lived in Oklahoma for five years and later in West Texas before moving to Sugar Land. She started taking acting classes when she was 10 years old, at the Fort Bend Community Theatre. Clements High School graduated her in the year 2000. She graduated in 2000 from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatrical performance. She moved to Dallas after college and was the Second Thought Theatre's founders. After moving to Chicago Illinois she began studying the art of performing in The Second City Training Center in the year 2009. Career in 2014, Tolman starred in the first series of FX black comedy crime series Fargo. Fargo was based on the Coen Brothers' 1996 film that had the same title. The show starred Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman, along with Bob Odenkirk. Tolman's performance as Minnesota cop Molly Solverson was praised by Vanity Fair, who wrote: "She calmly and confidently was the star of the performance". Tolman was cast in ABC's Downward Dog based off the Animal Media Group webseries. The show ended after one year. Tolman played in ABC's Emergence drama which premiered on September 24, 2019, but was cancelled by ABC following one year of airing at the 21st of May in 2020 even though Tolman tweeting she thought the ratings were "pretty good".
